Free multiplayer mode for Merchants of Brooklyn released

by News Bot on Jun.18, 2009, under PC Gaming News

You may remember a few months ago that developer Paleo Entertainment released Merchants of Brooklyn, a CryEngine 2 based first person action game. You may also remember that the developer first released an older alpha version of the game to the public before admitting their mistake and making the final version available on Steam.

Now comes word that the multiplayer componant for the game, Drug Wars, has been made available as a free update visSteam. The team-based mode combines elements of Capture The Flag and Base Defense as teams try to secure all the “drugs” on the map during the match. There is support for up to 32 players along with updated weapons and four vehicles. The new update also includes a number of bug fixes for the original game.

Recent Neverwinter Nights 2 expansion does away with install limits

by News Bot on Jun.18, 2009, under PC Gaming News

In late April Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate was made available for download as an official expansion to the popular fantasy RPG. However, many gamers were not happy that publisher Atari put in a limit to installs of the expansion (just three in fact). Now it looks like Atari has actually listened to consumers.

According to a note on the Ossian Studios web site (the developer of the expansion pack) Atari has now removed the install limit which means gamers can install the expansion as many times as they want on as many PCs as they want. The one-time online activation for the expansion is still in place, however.
