Although this may seem like an April Fool’s Day video, the Ostrich Hammer will be a real unlockable item available in Red Faction: Guerrilla’s multiplayer. Not even the destruction tech and weapons trailers can prepare you for this one. How will players take to being beaten down by a giant bird? More importantly, is PETA going to protest the game now?

The first release was a fresh idea that time. The idea of being able to destroy the environment and use it to your advantage or to solve a current situation in a different way. It didn’t go well however. It turned out that only a few portions of the environment can be destroyed. Setting aside this feature, the game looked ordinary and wasn’t really up to most of the PC gamers expectations.

THQ’s recent layoffs included some employees under Volition. Let’s hope Red Faction: Guerrilla will come out ok and polished.
